of <h1>Gujarat Amends GST Rates and Classifications for Goods Including Marble, Footwear, and Lithium-Ion Batteries Effective 2019.</h1> The Government of Gujarat, under the Gujarat Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, has issued amendments to Notification No. 1/2017-State Tax (Rate) dated 30 June 2017, effective from 1st January 2019. These amendments involve changes across various schedules, altering tax rates and classifications for numerous goods, including marble, natural cork, footwear, walking sticks, fly ash bricks, and lithium-ion accumulators. Some serial numbers and entries have been omitted, renumbered, or substituted, affecting tax rates of 2.5%, 6%, 9%, and 14% for specific items. The notification was authorized by the Finance Department of Gujarat.
