of <h1>Central Government Appoints New Presiding Officer for Securities Appellate Tribunal, Mumbai Under SEBI Act, 1992.</h1> The Central Government has appointed an individual as the Presiding Officer of the Securities Appellate Tribunal in Mumbai. This appointment is made under the authority of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992. The individual, who currently serves as Joint Secretary and Legal Adviser in the Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Legal Affairs, will serve a term of five years or until reaching the age of 65, whichever occurs first. This decision is documented in notification G.S.R. 424(E) dated July 28, 1997, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs.
