of <h1>Central Govt Extends Tenure of National Committee for Social Welfare by 6 Months u/s 35AC and Rule 11G.</h1> The Central Government has extended the tenure of the Chairman and members of the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare for an additional six months. This extension is in accordance with section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961, and rule 11G of the Income Tax Rules, 1962. The committee, originally constituted in 1992, includes 14 individuals from various professional backgrounds, such as former justices, social activists, academics, and entrepreneurs. The tenure of these members, which ended on March 30, 2018, has been extended to ensure the continued functioning of the committee.
