of <h1>Assam Updates GST Exemption List: New Items Include Sal Leaves, Deities, Rupee Notes, and More, Effective July 27, 2018.</h1> The Government of Assam has issued Notification No. 19/2018, amending Notification No. 02/2017 (Rate) to implement the GST Council's recommendations from its 28th meeting on July 21, 2018. The amendments include the addition of new items to the tax exemption schedule, such as sal leaves, vegetable materials for broomsticks, and de-oiled rice bran. Other changes include exemptions for deities made of specific materials, rupee notes or coins sold to the Reserve Bank of India, coir pith compost, sanitary towels, and rakhi. These amendments are effective from July 27, 2018.
