of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Codeine Phosphate, Narcotine Imports by Government Factories Now Duty-Free under Section 3A</h1> This notification amends Notification No. 18/2000-Customs, dated March 1, 2000, under Notification No. 45/2000-Customs, dated April 17, 2000. Exercising powers under section 3A of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, the Central Government updates the notification to include a new entry in the Table. After serial number 8, an entry 8A is added for Codeine Phosphate or Narcotine imported by Government Opium and Alkaloid Factories, which will now be exempt from customs duty. The amendment reflects the government's consideration of applicable sales tax and other charges on these goods.
