of <h1>Government exempts integrated tax on imported sports goods for eminent athletes with certificates; shooting items need NRAI and DGFT/MHA approvals</h1> The government exempted integrated tax on a specified list of sports goods when imported for training by eminent sportspersons, subject to conditions: production at import of a certificate from a senior officer in the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports confirming the importer's outstanding eminence, and the goods' description, quantity and value and training necessity; shooting items require a certificate from the National Rifle Association of India and arms/ammunition remain subject to DGFT licensing and Ministry of Home Affairs approvals. The notification took effect 15 November 2017 and was later superseded by Notification No. 45/2025.
