of <h1>India Updates Tariff Values for Oils, Metals, and More Under Customs Act, 1962; Affects Importers and Traders.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Central Board of Excise and Customs, issued Notification No. 83/2017-CUSTOMS (N.T.) on August 31, 2017, amending the tariff values for various goods under the Customs Act, 1962. The revised tariff values are specified for crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, crude palmolein, RBD palmolein, crude soybean oil, brass scrap, poppy seeds, gold, silver, and areca nuts. These changes replace the previous tables in Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), reflecting updated values in US dollars per metric tonne or per specified unit for each item.
