of <h1>CBDT Notification Exempts Certain Foreign Investment Funds from Income-tax Act Conditions, Effective August 3, 2017.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes issued Notification No. 77/2017, effective from August 3, 2017, exempting investment funds set up by Category-I or Category-II foreign portfolio investors from the conditions specified in clauses (e), (f), and (g) of Section 9A(3) of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This exemption applies to funds registered under the SEBI (Foreign Portfolio Investors) Regulations, 2014, pursuant to the SEBI Act, 1992. The notification was authorized by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, and will be effective from its publication date in the Official Gazette.
