of <h1>India Amends Import Policy: Red Sanders Import Now Prohibited Under Exim Code 44039918, Chapter 44 ITC (HS) 2017.</h1> The Government of India, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, has amended the import policy for Red Sanders (Pterocarpus santalinus) under Exim Code 44039918 in Chapter 44 of the ITC (HS), 2017 - Schedule 1 (Import Policy). Previously classified as 'Free' for import, the policy now prohibits the import of Red Sanders. This amendment is enacted under the authority of section 3 of the FT (D&R) Act, 1992, and aligns with the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020. The notification was issued on August 1, 2017.
