of <h1>Central Government Designates 4.86-hectare Area in Pune as IT/ITES Special Economic Zone under SEZ Act, 2005.</h1> The Central Government has notified a 4.86-hectare area in Kharadi Village, Pune, Maharashtra, as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for IT/ITES, proposed by a private infrastructure company. The notification follows the fulfillment of requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, with approval granted on February 22, 2017. An Approval Committee has been constituted, comprising various government officials and representatives, to oversee the SEZ's development. The SEZ is deemed an Inland Container Depot from March 31, 2017, under the Customs Act, 1962.
