of <h1>India Updates Customs Notification: Joint Liability Clause Added, Schedule III Removed, and Schedule II Revised for Official Events.</h1> The Government of India has amended Notification No. 157/1990-Customs, effective from October 5, 2016. Key changes include the omission of 'Schedule III,' and conditions (1) and (5) from the first paragraph. A new clause, 1A, has been added, specifying joint and several liability for customs duties if goods are not exported within the stipulated timeframe. The Federation's liability is capped at 10% above the customs duties, except when goods are sold or disposed of legally in India. Schedule II is updated with new entries for official displays and meetings. Schedule III and its entries are removed.
