Duty Entitlement Pass Book validity now allows administrative extensions by the licensing authority under amended customs notification. The notification substitutes condition (iv) of Notification No. 34/97-Customs so that the Duty Entitlement Pass Book 'shall be valid for twelve months from the date of issue or such extended period as may be granted by the Licensing authority,' providing for administrative extension of pass book validity.
