of <h1>Principal Commissioners Empowered as Chief Commissioners Under Central Excise Act via Notification No. 43/2016.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has issued Notification No. 43/2016-Central Excise (N.T.) dated August 18, 2016, under the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Central Excise Rules, 2002. This notification authorizes Principal Commissioners, who have been assigned additional duties as Chief Commissioners per Office Orders No. 79/2016 and 86/2016, to exercise the powers of a Chief Commissioner. The notification specifies the jurisdiction as per Notification No. 27/2014-Central Excise dated September 16, 2014. The notification is issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
