of <h1>CENVAT Credit Rules Amended: References Updated in Rule 3, Sub-rule (4), Ninth Proviso, Effective Upon Gazette Publication.</h1> The notification amends the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004, under the authority of section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and section 94 of the Finance Act, 1994, as read with section 162 of the Finance Act, 2016. It replaces references to 'sub-clause (1) of clause 159 of the Finance Bill, 2016' with 'sub-section (1) of section 162 of the Finance Act, 2016' in rule 3, sub-rule (4), ninth proviso of the CENVAT Credit Rules. This amendment, titled the CENVAT Credit (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2016, takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
