of <h1>India Imposes Five-Year Duty on Chinese Wind Generator Castings to Protect Domestic Industry from Subsidized Imports.</h1> The Government of India has imposed a definitive countervailing duty on imports of castings for wind-operated electricity generators from the People's Republic of China. This duty applies to goods whether machined, in raw, finished, or sub-assembled form, or as part of equipment for wind generators. The decision follows findings that these products were subsidized, causing material injury to the domestic industry. The duty, ranging from 8.78% to 13.44% of the landed value, is effective for five years from the notification date, unless amended or revoked earlier. The landed value is determined under the Customs Act, excluding specific duties.
