<h1>India's Ministry of Commerce & Industry Moves SEZ Applications Online for 'Ease of Doing Business' Initiative</h1> The Government of India's Ministry of Commerce & Industry has announced the digitization of additional applications and permissions for Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units and developers as part of the 'Ease of Doing Business' initiative. Effective from July 1, 2015, these processes will be conducted online via the SEZ Online System, developed by NSDL. The digitized applications include various approvals related to land changes, sector changes, and operational authorizations for developers, as well as import/export codes, service approvals, and operational modifications for units. Manual submissions are no longer permitted, and compliance reports are due by July 15, 2015.
