Initially approved for three years starting in 2008 and extended in 2011, the project is now further extended for three more years from 2014-2017. The project's estimated cost, initially set at 14.35 crore and increased to 24.09 crore in 2011, has been further raised to 34.09 crore. This decision follows recommendations from the National Committee for the Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
