of <h1>India Bans Shark Fin Exports Under ITC(HS) Schedule 2, Chapter 3, Effective Immediately</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued a notification prohibiting the export of shark fins from all species of sharks. This decision, effective immediately, is enacted under the powers granted by the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014. The prohibition is detailed in the newly added entry at Sl. No. 31 A in Chapter 3 of Schedule 2 of the ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import Items. The export policy for shark fins is now classified as 'Prohibited,' meaning they are not permitted to be exported.
