<h1>India Exempts AIDS Control Programme Imports from Customs Duties Until 2015, Later Rescinded in 2022.</h1> Notification No. 23/2014 issued by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, exempts certain drugs, diagnostics, and equipment required for the National AIDS Control Programme, funded by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, from customs duties. This exemption applies to specified anti-retroviral drugs, paediatric drugs, and diagnostic equipment when imported into India. Importers must provide a certificate from a designated government official confirming the goods' necessity for the program. The exemption was effective until April 1, 2015, and was later rescinded by Notification No. 05/2022, effective February 2, 2022.
