of <h1>India Updates Customs Duty Exemption for NTRO Imports, Requires Certification for Strategic Systems Until January 2019.</h1> The Government of India has amended Notification No. 39/96-Customs to exempt certain goods imported by the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) or its Indian Offset Partner (IOP) from customs duties. The amendments specify that goods imported by NTRO require certification from a senior NTRO officer confirming their necessity for strategic systems. Similarly, goods imported by the IOP must be accompanied by a duty exemption certificate detailing purchase orders and confirming their use in NTRO-acquired radars. These exemptions are valid until January 1, 2019.
