<h1>India Rescinds 2010 Clean Energy Cess Notification, Effective July 11, 2014, Under Finance Act Section 83.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has rescinded Notification No. 3/2010 related to the Clean Energy Cess, which was initially issued on June 22, 2010. This decision, effective from July 11, 2014, is made under the authority of section 83 of the Finance Act, 2010, and section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944. The rescission is deemed necessary in the public interest, although it does not affect actions already taken or omitted under the previous notification.
