of <h1>India Updates Excise Rules: Bio-CNG Projects Now Included for Initial Power Generation Setups Under Notification No. 33/2005-Central Excise.</h1> The Government of India has amended Notification No. 33/2005-Central Excise to include provisions for compressed bio-gas (Bio-CNG) projects. The amendments involve inserting references to Bio-CNG in the context of initial project setups for power generation. Specifically, the terms 'or generation of compressed bio-gas (Bio-CNG)' and 'or compressed bio-gas (Bio-CNG), as the case may be,' are added to the notification's opening paragraph and condition (i) respectively. Additionally, condition (ii) is modified to specify that the proof requirement applies to power generation projects. These changes are made under the Central Excise Act, 1944, to serve public interest.
