of <h1>Central Government notifies 17.712-hectare IT/ITeS Special Economic Zone; developer approved, SEZ Approval Committee constituted, zone declared Inland Container Depot</h1> The Central Government notified a sector-specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and IT-enabled services at Andoorkonam Village, Kerala, comprising specified survey parcels totaling 17.712 hectares. A developer's proposal, found to meet statutory requirements, received approval on 16 May 2012. An Approval Committee was constituted under the SEZ Act, consisting of ex-officio representatives from the SEZ administration, commerce, foreign trade, customs/central excise, income tax, finance (banking), two state-nominated officers and a developer representative as special invitee. The zone was deemed an Inland Container Depot effective 29 November 2012.
