of <h1>Bangalore's Doddakannelli Village designated as IT Special Economic Zone under SEZ Act 2005, covering 6.48 hectares.</h1> The Central Government has designated an area at Doddakannelli Village, Varthur Hobli, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore, Karnataka, as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology. This follows the proposal by a major technology company, which was approved by the Board of Approval on September 21, 2005. The company took possession of the land on January 22, 2004. The notification is issued under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and the SEZ Rules, 2006, covering a total area of 6.48 hectares across specified survey numbers.
