The Central Government has extended the notification for the 'Tribal Welfare Project' in Gangpur, District Navsari, Gujarat, executed by an organization based in Kolkata, for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2012-13. This project, initially recognized in 2001, involves constructing facilities such as dispensaries, schools, hostels, and vocational training institutes. The approval, under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, continues without altering the project cost of Rs. 277.00 lakhs. The extension follows a recommendation by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, acknowledging the project's proper execution.
