<h1>India Amends Foreign Trade Policy: Cotton Exports Now Ineligible for Benefits; IEIS Capped at Rs. 1 Crore Per IEC</h1> The Government of India has amended Chapter 3 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2009-2014, effective immediately. The amendments add the export of cotton, cotton yarn, and exports subject to Minimum Export Price or Export Duty to the list of ineligible export categories for certain benefits under the FTP. Additionally, the Incremental Export Incentivisation Scheme (IEIS) for 2013-14 is limited to a scrip value not exceeding Rs. 1 Crore per Importer Exporter Code (IEC), with claims exceeding this amount subjected to increased scrutiny by the Regional Authority.
