<h1>Union Cabinet approves 78.942 km four-lane NH-139W greenfield on Hybrid Annuity, Rs 3,822.31 crore; cuts travel time drastically</h1> The Union Cabinet approved construction of a 78.942 km four-lane greenfield section of NH-139W in Bihar on Hybrid Annuity Mode at an estimated cost of Rs 3,822.31 crore. The project aims to improve high-speed connectivity between Patna and Bettiah, link multiple north Bihar districts and existing national highways, support long-distance freight movement, and reduce travel time from about 2.5 hours to one hour. It will connect several economic, social and logistics nodes and tourism sites, including Buddhist heritage locations, and is expected to generate roughly 14.22 lakh direct and 17.69 lakh indirect man-days of employment.
