Cases were filed against three companies: a registered dealer and copper wire manufacturers. During searches at various premises, unaccounted copper scrap worth Rs. 1.7 crore and cash amounting to Rs. 1.05 crore were seized. The investigation revealed the use of fake invoices to pass on Cenvat Credit without actual supply of goods. The main individual involved operated multiple companies to facilitate this scheme.
