<h1>CBEC Updates Tariff Values: Brass Scrap $4,285/tonne, Poppy Seeds $3,680/tonne, Gold $542/10g, Silver $1,051/kg under Customs Act.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) of India has announced changes to the tariff values for certain commodities under the Customs Act, 1962. The revised values include brass scrap at $4,285 per metric tonne and poppy seeds at $3,680 per metric tonne. For precious metals, gold is set at $542 per 10 grams and silver at $1,051 per kilogram. These adjustments are part of an amendment to a previous notification from August 2001. Other commodities like crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, and crude soybean oil remain unchanged in their tariff values.
