Jharkhand Launches 'Shishu Shakti' to Combat Child Malnutrition with Enhanced Take-Home Ration in Chakradharpur.
The Jharkhand government has launched the 'Shishu Shakti' initiative, distributing enhanced take-home ration packets to combat severe malnutrition among children. The program, piloted in Chakradharpur block, aims to provide energy-rich, protein, and micronutrient-dense food made from local ingredients to children aged six months to six years. Over the next four months, 397 identified malnourished children will receive these packets alongside regular meals. If successful, the initiative will expand statewide. This effort is part of broader measures, including supplementary nutrition and hot meals, to address malnutrition affecting approximately 3.9 lakh children in Jharkhand.
