Health Ministry extends GMP compliance deadline to December 31, 2025, for small and medium pharma firms under Schedule M.
The Health Ministry has extended the deadline for small and medium-sized pharma companies with a turnover under Rs 250 crore to upgrade their facilities to meet revised good manufacturing practices (GMP) under Schedule M of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. These companies now have until December 31, 2025, to comply. The extension responds to requests for more time to arrange finances and implement changes. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has conducted awareness sessions and inspections, showing progress in GMP compliance. This aims to align Indian pharmaceutical standards with global benchmarks, particularly WHO standards.
