On consideration of difficulties faced by the taxpayers and other stakeholders in filing of various reports of audit for the Assessment Year 2022-23 under the Income-tax Act,1961(Act), Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to extend the due date for filing of various reports of audit for the Assessment Year 2022-23, which was 30^th September, 2022 to 07^th October, 2022 in the case of certain category of assessees for whom the due date was 30.09.2022.

Extension of audit filing deadline for certain assessees under the Income tax Act provides short additional time to submit required audit reports. The CBDT has granted a short extension of the due date for filing various audit reports under the Income tax Act for Assessment Year 2022 23, postponing the deadline that was 30 September 2022 to a brief later date for certain categories of assessees, by way of a circular issued on 30 September 2022 to address filing difficulties faced by taxpayers and stakeholders.
