of <h1>New 6% IGST or 3% CGST + 3% SGST Tax Rate Announced; Manual Adjustments Needed Until Portal Update.</h1> A new 6% IGST or 3% CGST + 3% SGST tax rate has been introduced for certain goods, effective from March 31, 2022, as per Notification No. 02/2022. Until the GST portal is updated to accommodate this rate, taxpayers must report these goods under the 5% heading in GSTR-1 and manually adjust the tax amount to reflect the correct 6% rate. This adjustment involves entering the taxable value and modifying the system-calculated tax amount in the relevant table, such as B2B, B2C, or Export. The GST Network apologizes for any inconvenience caused during this transition.
