E-Invoice Generation Mandatory for Specified Taxpayers: Report Invoice Data on IRP for Unique IRN and GST Auto-Population.
Generation of e-invoices is mandatory for certain taxpayers as specified by the government. These taxpayers must prepare e-invoices by reporting their invoice data in the designated e-invoice schema format on the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP). Successfully reported invoices receive a unique Invoice Reference Number (IRN). The reported documents, including invoices, debit notes, and credit notes, are then electronically transmitted to the GST system, where they are auto-populated in the corresponding tables of GSTR-1.
