India is hosting the 4th International Tax Dialogue Conference (ITD) Global Conference on Tax and Inequality. More than 250 foreign delegates are expected to take part in this three day conference being held at Vigyan Bhawan from 7th to 9th December. The conference would be inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. A number of prominent academics and representatives of regional and international organizations will also be present at this high level conference which will have senior level representation from over 100 countries.

The ITD conference will provide a unique and timely opportunity to address on important question facing each country, that is, to what extent taxation can be seen as part of the solution to growing inequalities in income and wealth. The use of plenary and parallel sessions, with active country participation, will allow a peer dialogue between Ministers of Finance and Heads of Revenue Administration around the world.

Taxation and inequality: international conference to explore taxation's role in addressing income and wealth disparities through ministerial peer dialogue. India will host the fourth International Tax Dialogue Global Conference on Tax and Inequality, a three day event bringing together finance ministers, heads of revenue administration and academics to examine taxation as a tool to mitigate inequality. Through plenary and parallel sessions the conference facilitates country participation and peer dialogue to discuss tax policy design, administrative challenges and comparative experiences on how taxation can address income and wealth disparities.
