India Launches RoDTEP Scheme to Boost Exports with Rebates on Unrefunded Duties for 8,555 Tariff Lines.
The Centre has announced the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Indian exports by refunding unrefunded duties and taxes on exported goods. Covering 8,555 tariff lines, the scheme benefits sectors such as marine, agriculture, leather, gems, jewelry, automobiles, plastics, electronics, and machinery. The initiative supports domestic industries by providing rebates on export products, ensuring a level playing field in international markets. The rebates will be issued as transferable electronic scrips, managed by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, complementing existing support for textiles under the RoSCTL scheme.
