Individuals with an annual income up to Rs. 5 lakh will receive a full tax rebate, while those earning up to Rs. 6.5 lakh can avoid taxes through investments in specified savings. The standard deduction for salaried individuals is increased from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000. The TDS threshold on interest from deposits is raised to Rs. 40,000, and for rent, it is increased to Rs. 2.4 lakh. Additional reliefs include tax exemptions on notional rent for a second self-occupied house and extended benefits for affordable housing projects.
