<h1>State responsibility for industrial development, with a Union led roadmap and upgraded cluster infrastructure to spur regional industrial growth.</h1> Primary responsibility for industrial development in backward areas rests with the States, with the Union providing supplementary centrally supported schemes. An inter ministerial Committee chaired by the CEO, NITI Aayog has been constituted to propose a new industrial policy roadmap for North Eastern and Himalayan States. Under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Up gradation Scheme, twenty three projects received final approval, including projects in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Mizoram and Tripura, to upgrade industrial parks and promote direct and indirect employment and industrial growth.
