<h1>E-filing Open for All Income Tax Returns for AY 2017-18; Aadhaar Mandatory from July 1; Deadline July 31.</h1> The Income Tax department has enabled e-filing for all categories of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the assessment year 2017-18. Taxpayers can now file their returns on the department's e-portal. It is advised to have last year's ITR, bank statements, TDS, savings certificates, and other relevant documents ready before e-filing. E-verification of ITRs can be done using an Aadhaar number, eliminating the need to mail the ITR-V acknowledgment. As per the Finance Act 2017, quoting Aadhaar is mandatory for filing ITRs and applying for a permanent account number starting July 1, 2017. The deadline for filing ITRs is July 31.
