of <h1>Central Government Amends SEZ Rules: Multi-product SEZs Capped at 5000 Hectares, 50% Area for Processing Required.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) rules as per notification G.S.R. 1744(E) dated October 12, 2007. Key changes include setting a maximum limit of 5000 hectares for multi-product SEZs and requiring at least 50% of the area to be designated for processing activities. Additionally, the amendments permit the use of previously utilized plant and machinery from the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).
