of <h1>Opinion Poll Services Taxable Since 2004 Under Section 65(105)(zzs); Providers Liable for Service Tax Payment.</h1> Any service provided by an opinion poll agency in relation to opinion polls is taxable under section 65(105)(zzs) as of September 10, 2004. The service provider, an opinion poll agency, is liable to pay the service tax. An opinion poll is defined as a service to gather public opinion on various issues, and an opinion poll agency is any person engaged in such services. Circular No. 96/7/2007 supersedes previous communications on technical issues related to service tax, including scope, classification, valuation, and exemptions, withdrawing earlier clarifications.
