<h1>SEBI defines Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) to include mutual funds, venture capital, insurance companies, and more.</h1> A Qualified Institutional Buyer (QIB) as defined by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) includes entities such as mutual funds, venture capital funds, alternative investment funds, and foreign venture capital investors registered with SEBI. It also encompasses foreign portfolio investors (excluding individuals, corporate bodies, and family offices), public financial institutions, scheduled commercial banks, development financial institutions, state industrial development corporations, and insurance companies registered with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. Additionally, it includes provident and pension funds with a minimum corpus of twenty-five crore rupees, the National Investment Fund, insurance funds managed by the Indian armed forces or the Department of Posts, and systemically important non-banking financial companies.
