Entities Must Pay Advance Tax Under Section 208 If Estimated Tax Liability Exceeds Rs. 10,000, Except Salary Earners.
Under Section 208 of the Income Tax Act, any entity, including individuals, firms, and companies, must pay advance tax if their estimated tax liability for the financial year, after accounting for Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), is Rs. 10,000 or more. This tax is to be paid in installments during the financial year. However, individuals with only salary income are exempt from paying advance tax, as their employers are responsible for deducting and depositing the tax through TDS.
