Electronic PAN issuance: PDF PAN delivered by email when applicant opts out of a physical card; email mandatory. E-PAN provides the Permanent Account Number as a PDF mailed to the e-mail address supplied in the PAN application. If the applicant elects not to receive a physical PAN card at submission, the e-mail becomes mandatory and the physical card will not be dispatched; e-PAN carries a separate fee from the physical PAN.
