of <h1>Banking Cash Transaction Tax Withdrawn April 1, 2009; Previously 0.1% for Transactions Exceeding Specified Limits</h1> The Banking Cash Transaction Tax (BCTT) was withdrawn effective April 1, 2009. Prior to this date, the BCTT rate was 0.1% with no additional surcharge or education cess. BCTT was not applicable if withdrawals did not exceed Rs. 50,000 for individuals or Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) and Rs. 1,00,000 for others. The threshold for individuals and HUFs was Rs. 25,000 until June 1, 2007. No BCTT was applicable after March 31, 2009.
