New Electronic Portals Designated for GST Functions and E-Invoice Preparation Under Rule 48(4)
The government, based on Council recommendations, has designated specific electronic portals for Goods and Services Tax (GST) functions such as registration, tax payment, return filing, integrated tax settlement, and e-way bill generation. The primary portal, www.gst.gov.in, facilitates most GST-related tasks, while www.ewaybillgst.gov.in is dedicated to e-way bills. Effective from January 1, 2020, multiple portals (www.einvoice1.gst.gov.in to www.einvoice10.gst.gov.in) are designated for e-invoice preparation under rule 48(4). These portals are managed by the Goods and Services Tax Network, a company under the Companies Act, 2013.
