Faceless Assessment establishes a centralised, paperless and contactless customs assessment mechanism relocating assessment from the port of import to designated assessing formations. Pilots tested intra and inter zone electronic assessment workflows for specified tariff chapters; phased expansion extended the model to additional chapters and formations, culminating in an All India implementation covering all ports and imported goods, with emphasis on paperless processes and centralised assessment allocation.
