AEO status enables graduated customs facilitation, reduced guarantees, priority handling, and expedited duty refunds for compliant traders.

The document defines tiered facilitation under the Authorized Economic Operator programme: AEO T1, AEO T2 and AEO T3 receive progressively greater customs facilitation (reduced physical/documentary checks, priority handling, faster refunds, paperless filing and ICEGATE data access), graduated reductions or waivers of Bank Guarantee (subject to Competent Authority exceptions), and time bound investigation and adjudication targets. AEO LO entities receive tailored operational waivers and expedited regulatory approvals. On site post clearance audits will be risk based and calibrated to demonstrated compliance; audited AEOs are exempt from routine transactional PCAs during OSPCA.
