Assignment of informant reward not recognised; reward may be granted to deceased informant's legal heirs or nominated persons.

The Scheme does not recognise a private assignment of an informant's reward to another person; voluntary transfers are not accepted. If an informant dies before receipt, the authority may grant the reward to legal heirs or nominated persons, who take the benefit under the same Scheme provisions; nominees must be specified in Annexure A and multiple heirs receive equal shares unless a different allocation is specified or a right is relinquished.
