The competent authority to grant rewards under the Benami Transactions Informants Reward Scheme, 2018 is a committee consisting of the DGIT (Inv.) and the PDIT (Inv.)/DIT (Inv.) holding jurisdiction over the JCIT/Addl. CIT (BP) that received the information, together with a Principal Commissioner of Income Tax nominated by the Principal Chief Commissioner for the area where a provisional attachment or confiscation order is passed; the JCIT/Addl. CIT (BP) concerned is the Secretary of the committee.
